How To Use Heat Transfer Vinyl by Zedarr India

Preheat Your Fabric:

  • Set your heat press or iron to the recommended temperature for your HTV (usually around 150°C to 160°C or 300°F).
  • Preheat your garment for about 5-10 seconds to remove any wrinkles and moisture.

Position Your Design:

  • Place the weeded HTV design on your fabric with the shiny plastic side facing up and the vinyl design facing down.
  • If you’re using a heat press, carefully align the design on your garment. If you’re using an iron, make sure to have an even pressure.

Apply Heat:

  • Press with firm pressure for the time specified (usually 10-15 seconds with a heat press, or 15-30 seconds with an iron).
  • If using an iron, move it in a circular motion across the design and apply consistent pressure.

Peel the Backing:

  • Let the design cool for a few seconds.
  • Carefully peel away the shiny plastic backing. If the vinyl is lifting, you may need to press it again for a few more seconds.

Cure the Design (if needed):

Some HTV may require a second pressing with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet over the design to ensure the vinyl adheres properly and cures completely.

Always follow Zedarr’s instructions for temperature, pressure, and time for the best results.

Test a small area on your fabric if you’re unsure of the heat settings to avoid damaging the garment.

When using multiple layers of Heat Transfer Vinyl, press each layer separately before applying the next one.

By following these steps, you can successfully use heat transfer vinyl to create custom designs on t-shirts, hoodies, and other garments!
